Ο Ανατόλι Αντόνοφ είναι μάλλον ο πιο μοναχικός άνθρωπος στην Ουάσινγκτον – Δεν του μιλούν οι Αμερικανοί αξιωματούχοι και με τον Πούτιν δεν έχουν τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία τα τελευταία πέντε χρόνια
Κανείς δεν θέλει να μιλήσει στον Ρώσο πρεσβευτή στις ΗΠΑ, Ανατόλι Αντόνοφ: ούτε οι Αμερικανοί αξιωματούχοι αλλά ούτε και ο ισχυρός άνδρας του Κρεμλίνου. Σε συνέντευξή του στον ιστότοπο «Politico», ο Ανατόλι Αντόνοφ ισχυρίζεται ότι αισθάνεται απομονωμένος στην Ουάσινγκτον.
Από τότε που εξελέγη ο Τζο Μπάιντεν στον Λευκό Οίκο και κυρίως όταν ξεκίνησε ο ρωσικός πόλεμος στην Ουκρανία, τον αποφεύγουν οι Αμερικανοί αξιωματούχοι. Ο ίδιος όμως προσθέτει ότι, από το 2017 που βρίσκεται στις ΗΠΑ, δεν έχει μιλήσει στο τηλέφωνο ούτε μία φορά και με τον Ρώσο πρόεδρο.
«Τα τελευταία πέντε χρόνια, από τότε που έφυγα για την Ουάσινγκτον, δεν έχω τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με τον Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν», όπως λέει υποβαθμίζοντας όμως το γεγονός: «(Να μιλήσουμε) για να δώσω την ευκαιρία στο FBI να ακούσει όλα όσα θα μπορούσε να μου πει ο κύριος Πούτιν;», επισημαίνει.

Ο Αντόνοφ υποστηρίζει επίσης ότι «με τον Πούτιν δεν είχε καμία επικοινωνία και από τότε που ξεκίνησε ο πόλεμος στην Ουκρανία στις 24 Φεβρουαρίου», αν και παραδέχτηκε ότι έχει δίαυλο επικοινωνίας με το Κρεμλίνο.
«Είχα αρκετές συνομιλίες με ανώτερους αξιωματούχους στο Κρεμλίνο, σε διάφορες υπηρεσίες», είπε ο Αντόνοφ στο Politico, προσθέτοντας: «Έχουμε ένα διαφορετικό σύστημα».
Αναφερόμενος στις ψυχρές σχέσεις του με Αμερικανούς αξιωματούχους, ο Ρώσος πρεσβευτής στις ΗΠΑ δήλωσε χαρακτηριστικά: «Ειλικρινά, είμαι απομονωμένος».
Του κλείνουν την πόρτα οι Αμερικανοί αξιωματούχοι
Ο 66χρονος Αντόνοφ τόνισε στο «Politico» ότι δεν μπορεί να έχει συναντήσεις με ανώτερα στελέχη του Λευκού Οίκου ή του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών των ΗΠΑ. Πρόσθεσε επίσης ότι υπήρξαν Αμερικανοί βουλευτές που αρνήθηκαν να τον συναντήσουν μετά την εκλογή του Δημοκρατικού προέδρου Τζο Μπάιντεν και δεν ήθελαν να φωτογραφηθούν μαζί του.
Ωστόσο, όπως υπογράμμισε στο «Politico», οι διπλωματικές σχέσεις με τις ΗΠΑ δεν έχουν «διακοπεί» εντελώς και ότι η ρωσική πρεσβεία εξακολουθεί να έχει «τεχνικές» ή κατώτερου επιπέδου επαφές με την κυβέρνηση Μπάιντεν. {https://www.protothema.gr/}
