Με δηλώσεις του ο πρόεδρος της ΕΠΟ, Τάκης Μπαλτάκος επιβεβαίωσε την πρόταση που έχει γίνει για τη διεξαγωγή του τελικού του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας της επόμενης σεζόν στη Νέα Υόρκη
Ο Τάκης Μπαλτάκος μίλησε στο Hellenic DNA, όπου επιβεβαίωσε τις σκέψεις που υπάρχουν στην ΕΠΟ για διεξαγωγή του τελικού του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας τον Μάιο του 2023 στη Νέα Υόρκη. Ο πρόεδρος της ποδοσφαιρικής ομοσπονδίας ανέφερε πως ελπίζει να υλοποιηθεί το συγκεκριμένο σχέδιο για έναν τελικό γιορτή με την παρουσία Ελληνοαμερικανών από όλες τις πόλεις των ΗΠΑ στις εξέδρες.
Αναλυτικά όσα είπε ο Τάκης Μπαλτάκος στο Hellenic DNA:
«Χαιρετίζω όλους τους Ελληνοαμερικανούς. Ελλάδα δεν είναι μόνο το ελληνικό κράτος, αλλά και ο ελληνισμός της διασποράς και ιδιαίτερα των ΗΠΑ.
Γι’ αυτόν ακριβώς τον λόγο αυτό που προτείναμε στην ΕΠΟ είναι για να έρθουμε κοντά στους Ελληνοαμερικανούς και για να αισθάνονται κοντά στην πατρίδα τους, του χρόνου τον Μάιο να διοργανώσουμε τον τελικό του Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας με όποιες ομάδες προκριθούν σε ένα γήπεδο της Νέας Υόρκης.
Να έρθουμε εκεί, να γίνει ένας τελικός που θα είναι χαρά για τους πάντες και να είναι ένα μήνυμα σε όλους τους Έλληνες φιλάθλους ώστε όταν στη συνέχεια ο τελικός επιστρέψει στην Ελλάδα να έχουμε κάτι για να μιμηθούμε. Έναν τελικό γιορτή.
Αυτή ήταν η σκέψη και ελπίζουμε αυτή η ιδέα να αγκαλιαστεί από τους Ελληνοαμερικανούς όλων των πόλεων.
Το γήπεδο να γεμίσει με ελληνικές σημαίες, και όχι μόνο των ομάδων που θα συμμετέχουν, και να γίνει ένα συμβάν που θα ικανοποιήσει και εμάς και τους φίλους Ελληνοαμερικανούς. Ελπίζουμε να πάνε όλα καλά και να υλοποιηθεί το σχέδιό μας».
